Austin A-30 Question

After reading all the knowledgeable responses to my earlier question re: transmissions and pumpkins I am attempting to install an Austin A-30 pumpkin in my 1947 TC. I have installed the TC spider gears and they make an excellent fit. All is in readiness save securing the spider gear axle. The pumpkin kindly supplied to me by a member of this list was delivered without the pin that secures the spider gear axle. My machinist wants to know if it calls for a rolled pin, a hardened pin, or what. All responses are gratefully welcomed. Best Regards, Tom Butler
