From all the various comments, I get the impression that somehow we need
a central MG T registry that is only a register of current MG T owners
and basic info about the cars. No clubs, no meetings, no magazines, no
dues and no secret handshakes, etc. I think T owners are individualists
and don't fit in to any particular category. I don't know of any easy
way to reach all or even a majority of them. Many aren't online, so
they can't be reached by email. Some of those that aren't online belong
to MG clubs, either local, national or international. It would be nice
get info about T owners from the clubs, but sometimes clubs are very
possesive of this information. I thought about this, but the postage
alone to send out inquiries would be prohibitive to anyone without
commercial backing. I'm sure such a project could provide very useful
information.
For instance, I for one would like to know about TCs 7380 thru 7386. My
TC is EXU 7387. The first EXU was 7380. Is it still around? And are
7381 thru 7386 EXUs? (I suspect that they are. I understand that EXUs
were built in batches.) Where are they now?
Regards,
Charles Hill

Charles,
I would also be interested in TCs 3482 thru 3491 as they are the 10 cars that completed manufacture on my birthday September 4, 1947. I know that sounds silly, but isn't silliness a big part of our facination with these cars?
Based on this current thread, I suppose I should contact Jerry Austin.
Cheers,
Doug

Doug, How does one find out the date of manufacture of a TC? I'd like to know
when mine was built. Bob TC4956

MGCC in Abingdon,England can provide the build date, engine number and
possibly some notes for a particular chassis number. You simply send them
the chassis number and for a small fee they provide the information,
possibly by email. I visited the MGCC offices several years ago and looked
up the information on my cars. At the same time, they were wrecking Kimbers
office so I now have an octagonal piece of the wood flooring that Kimber
walked on!!.
Or, I believe Roger Furneaux can supply the same information, probably in
exchange for a few pints of Old Speckled Hen.
Either way, its worth getting the exact build date.
