Re: T-abc - Exhaust Pipe fixing Hi Rob I did not realise there were different types, I just went to an MGB dealer and asked for the manifold gasket. My receipt shows a stock number - GEG753, but this may be particular to this one dealer. The item is simply a ring, the diameter of the swaged end of the exhaust pipe, which has a tapered face top and bottom. the top, which goes against the exhaust manifold is a resilient, dull grey finish, and the bottom is shiny, softish aluminium. Just fit it in between the manifold and the exhaust pipe, no need for the copper gasket or the loose ring, and you should get a perfect seal, I did. The price for this item was a mere 1-20p. Hello Tony..its Rob Greaves from the T-abc list. I too am at the same position you were at with the lousy seal - headpipe to exhaust manifold. Which MGB gasket did you use? I am looking at a Moss motors catalogue. They sell one which is for the 62 - 74 MGB and they sell another for the 75 - 80 ones. Also, what pieces from the original set-up did you use with the MGB gasket - manifold flange? In other words did you use the copper covered T series gasket or the tapered metal cupped washer with the MGB gasket? Rob Greaves Canada
