Help please

Dear members,
I'm trying to connect my tach reduction gear to the end of the generator
but I think I'm missing a piece. Does anyone have a sketch of the bits
and pieces and their sequence or info that can be provided? This is a TA
reduction arrangement but I assume that, other than the gear ratio, info
on a TC arrangement would also apply.
Many thanks for any advice.

Dear All
I am building a T type special which has a TC engine block. The fly wheel is fitted with a late TD / TF ring gear. I am therefore trying to fit a 2 bolt late TD / TF starter motor. Remember this is a TC block. I can't get the starter pinion through the hole in the block. By this, I mean the pinion will not squeeze between the flywheel teeth and the hole in the engine block. I have never had this trouble before. Has anybody got any ideas?
I the earlier TC 3 bolt starter motor has a ten tooth pinion, but the later TD / TF should have a nine tooth one I believe.
Has anybody come across this before?
Regards
Mark

MarkSometimes the block has to be ground a little to clear the TD starter pinion on a TC block.Yes TC starter has 10 teeth to suit the TC 93 tooth ringgear TD/TF starters have 9 teeth to suit the TD/TF 120 tooth ringgears. Bob,Canada.., From:

Mark If you perhaps have a midget or MGa starter (work the same) and it has bolt heads on the mounting end, you need to grind clearance on the inside of the mounting hole toward the block. This is not a pinion problem, but a starter flange not lying flat when bolting in. Will
