I am glad that I have joined the TABC-list and I already have a question.Who can tell me how I can repair at the best my petrol tank.Some weeks ago I was cleaning my TC and I discovered a very small leak in the bottom of my tank.I don,t what I best can do. Hi, Harry- There are two ways to go, I think- You can pull your tank and take it to a gas tank / radiator shop, have it cleaned out and fixed via solder. Just explain to them how crtical it is not to burn your paint. My dad had his done this way and the only effected paint was on the bottom, easily touched up and unseen anyway. or- You could clean it real well, and apply a small amount of a fuel resistant expoxy- the kind that you knead into a dough, just use a bit- and wedge it into the seam. Either way, I would think those would be a permanant fix. If your car is really nice, and you fear for the paint, I would opt for the expoxy...I WOULD NOT use the slushing compound, as I have had it pull away from the tank and then you have a God awful mess in there.
