G'day Terry (and everyone in MG land!) This one's a long-shot. Many years ago (late 60's) CAR & DRIVER magazine had a column writer named Warren Weith. He was once an owner of a TC and wrote some great pieces with great insight concerning the car. They're great reading. What happened to him... does anyone know? Several times I've contacted C&D seeking a lead but I think everybody there must be either ..under 30/ never heard of MG/ don't know/ don't care/ can't be bothered answering. Have any of you TC blokes in the US any info? Jeff TA2828 TC3306

Weith did a long pictorial piece about the TC, many color pages as I recall. I believe he retired from the magazine in the mid seventies.

Jeff, I guess I'm starting to show how long I've been in thge hobby when I can remember that name. I'm not sure if Warren Weith is one person or a father and son who share the same name. There is a photo of Warren Weith in the old Floyd Clymer book "Buy an Antique Car" driving his 1901 Locomobile in 1953. Why I instantly remembered this book and photo at the sight of Warrens name is a mystery to me! The CD guys seem to be a bit -ah- flaky. I had a car that appeared on the CD TV a couple of years ago, and asked for a tape of the show.....I even offered to pay for the tape! That was two years ago.........
And yes, most of them ARE under thirty........WAYYYYYYYYYYY under thirty.
Best,

I don't know Weith's current whereabouts, but I do remember his columns. If I remember correctly, he started writing for the magazine back when it was still known as Sports Cars Illustrated and still understood what the term "sports car" meant. -- Chip Old 1948 M.G. I remember his columns also, wish he were stillwriting. Much like peter Eagan in Road and Track. Back in summer of 83 Peter wrote a 'Great Trek' story about pulling a TC out of storage in Wisconsin at his friend Chris Bebe's farm and airing the tires, checking oil and other minimal prep, then driving it to Road Atlanta. He describe what we experience every drive, and no problems with the car, to Atlanta and back. I re-read that at least twice a year, and smile everytime. Just had a 100 mile local club trip down hiway 25, over hills, mountains curves etc, ending at a restaurant to share car stories. Paul
