Some time ago there was a thread of he windscreen screw set supplied by
Moss for the T series windscreen. There have been many complaints on some
or all of the screws being too long, and as such several windscreens have
been cracked by screwing the afor mentioned screws in too far. I have been
going round and round with Moss about this problem. Harry Haig at Moss will
not look into it unless I can give him the correct length vs. the ones they
sell now. Some one on the list gave an attachment giving this info. Would
they please send it too me, so I can get this problem solved.

 Thanks:

Re: Windshield screw set-323-918
hi Skip - I don't have a windscreen on my car, which means it is up in the
barn somewhere, with no glass in, so can easily check it out for you. But a
simple "thought experiment" tells me that the length should not be much more
than the thickness of the corner brackets, which I would guess at 3/16"
(have not looked at one for years), plus a bit for the outer frame. Since
the shortest length in the catalogue I use is 1/4", that would not crack the
 glass!

 cheers

I happen to have a new (repro?) corner bracket right here...it measures .22
thick, so Roger is right, a 1/4" screw would be about the max that could be
 used without hitting the glass.
