Vintage Tyre in Beaulieu in the UK prints an excellent, informative catalog on all Dunlop Tyres from ancient to modern. Included is info such as rev. per mile, actual OD etc. You may wish to get one as a reference. I strongly recommend them as a Tire/Tyre source as well. Great service and fair prices- and nice people too. Thanks, Tom Poole

I have a sheet from British Leyland which shows how to figure out Miles per
100 RPM. It is to hard to write down, as there is a tire size chart (no 19)
but I will fax or mail to serious inquires, there is a way to figure out for
tire sizes other than on whats on the chart.

I know of no heat shield for a TC but the pattern on a Sprite or MG Midget
HS 2 (1964 to 1973) is the same as a TC, you could get one and split it up
the center, and with a but of creative filing make some shields that will
protect the float bowls and leave the center open.

I make heat shields for XPAG TD engines, but at the moment am out of stock. They should fit the TC engine with the same carb. configuration. However, I need orders for six or more to make it worth my while. There have been a couple of other enquiries for the same recently in the TD BBS.
If you can all get together, I'll make up a batch. They are $70 each + p&p..

Is there anyone on the list that makes (and sells) heat shields for the TC - or knows someone who does? If so I'd appreciate a price and availability. For what it's worth I tried some Autolite 425 sparkplugs in the TC and what an amazing difference they made at a very low price - about 98 cents each. Of course, since I obviously must have had bad plugs in the car almost anything would have made an amazing difference I guess. Gene Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to

I believe there is a pattern to make a very functional heat shield in the "TCs Forever" book. Bob

Gene, You got me wondering, because I knew I'd seen it somewhere, so I looked in all my books and finally found it. It's in "MGT Series Restoration Guide" by Malcolm Green, pages 86 - 89, with an actual template with all the dimensions drawn on pg. 88, and a picture of one on an actual car on page 86. It looks fairly simple and straightforward to make. Regards, Bob

Bob, I went through my copy of "TCs Forever" but only found a heat shield for the master cylinder. Is there another for the carburetors I missed? Thanks, Gene
