Sally try Holden's here in the UK.
www.holden.co.uk on the web.
They do "Splitfire Plugs" (a twin contact plug that may help keep oil
fowling down. You may be getting plus oiling up due to worn valve guides
and seals. Ok big problem is you can't tell until you take the cylinder
head off. Holdens have a wide range available acould well advise you on
the best to suit. Moss do a Contactless Elctronic Ignition conversion for
'T'Types . (at least the conversion is a straight fit on the XPAG engine
but I was lead to believe that it would fit the 'dizzy' on the MPJG engine
. I did however manage to convert the distributor base so that it would
work. Starting now is first class.
Incidentally Moss's conversion is supplied to them by
Crane Cams a US based company.
www.cranecams.com (I Think) you may well
get it direct from them but make sure you get the correct earth (GROUND)
version.
................................................
TF Seating................... I'm 6ft 4ins too. When I finished off my TA
I had no seats or floor boards. I was thus in a position to make and drill
floorboards to suit and put the seats back as far as possible. Also us
big blokes have big plates of 'meat' (FEET) so put your slippers on or
better still take shoes oof completely when driving..........There is so
much more room round the pedals. Shoes on my clutch leg kills me , shoes
off I get stretch my leg right out!!
.................................................
1939 MG TA ....................
Now I was only 43 when I got my 1937 TA, We celebrated the cars 60th
Birthday at the paint spray shop on Nov 2nd 1997!!!!!!!!!!. I'm not
retired ( and this in no way is meant to be a dig) I found it difficult to
keep going with the restoration, trying to juggle Work, my wife (who wanted
to see the car finished just as much as me), kids, schools, university
entrance, holidays family commitments etc. I do think you we have all
reached a time somewhere during a restoration where we feel it will never
end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However set myself a target date, for me it was the Millenium. I wanted to
take the car out on its first run on Jan 1st 2000. We did it. Only just!!
We all need a target. I believe you should set yourself one, a realistic
one of course and go for it. It doesn't matter if the car isn't quite
perfect . GO DRIVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Best Wishes to everbody on the list and to these peeking in!!

Guys,
The Splitfire plugs are an advertising dupe. On the dyno, they made no more
power compared with regular plugs. If you are having fouling of the plugs,
shorten the top grounding electrode until the end is even with the center of
the electrode down in the plug, file the upper one sharp-square, and screw
it into the engine. I am assuming that you have the proper hear range of
plug..........
Best,
