Found this in another email group - believe it needs wider distribution - don't think the originator will mind. If so, oh well. Gene

I was 66 yesterday and am in the process of restoring a 1933 J2, 1939 TA Tickford, 1951 TD, & a 1955TF not to mention striping a '57 T-bird. If you keep yourself active it's much better than giving up at age 60, unless you have a health problem. We all had a great time in St. Paul last week - the Minnesota Group did a fine job hosting that meeting. Hats off to them - Had my TC & MGC there. Stayed in the campground on the east side of the fair grounds and had a ball. Carlyle Merritt, Iowa USA

Chaps, Does anyone live near this gentleman? Perhaps a personal visit, and scoping of the remaining work with a plan of action, is all that is required. Perhaps also a drive of a similar T-type could refire the interest? I think it is true that sometimes the greatest challenge is to finish, when so nearly there. Yep! I agree. At 73, I'm trying to decide which car to restore next....... MG, of course! Not because MGs are the only cars needing restoring, but they are worth it, for the enjoyment of driving. Who has a WA? (OF COURSE, are you willing to sell it?) BOB Roger Muir wrote:

OH! I forgot to mention, I am finishing my MG M Type this year, emphasize: THIS Year....... My wife says so. Even Jerry Felper, the wizard Electrical Engineer has told me he would help, as wiring is about all that is left. If you get the feeling everyone is sick and tired of me procrasinating, you are right. I'm only 9 years into it. Well, Pikes Peak cars get priority each yaer, and rightly so, they help pay my keep............ Anyway, thanks to all for the encouragement. Maybe I'll pick my TC as next project. It is running well but slightly tacky after 22 years. BOB P. S. Second Request: I am the Librarian for the Vintage MG Club of Southern California. We have over 200 books on MG related items, but we are always looking for more. First: Join our Club and you get to research these books........ Second: If you are closing out or reducing YOUR library, I'd be glad to give a good home to your MG books. The Salvatiuon Army will not appreciate the importance of a MG book, so Please let me know... I might even buy your sacred copies. Carlyle Merritt wrote:

St. Paul had better watch out; our West Coast GOF had nearly 200 cars, with the furthest ones coming from Vancouver(would you believe 9 TCs in the group of 12 MGs who all drove over 1000 miles to become the largest group coming the furthest, and with minimal problems). Then the organizers had us booked on a train ride through the wine country(Napa Valley in Northern California) and a good rally, plus of course, GOOD FOOD. All GOFs and any rally must have good food...... Five days of fun and fellowship. BOB Carlyle Merritt wrote:

Make sure the "body tub" is for the car. Actually hard work on MGs makes the body less tubby.... BOB taterry@aol.com wrote:

Congratulations, DAI. As a new member of the TABC I have endured quite a lot of email lately all of which I generally find amusing, informative and sometimes even helpful (sorry Badger, you're in a category of your own). At last the offering of help to someone who has spent a really long time dreaming about finishing his TA but has perhaps given up hope. Way to go. If there is any way to count me in, I'm in.
