My generator is putting out only 1.5 to 2.0 volts, so I think it may be
time for a rebuild. Is this Lucas generator correct to a TC? It's younger
than the car (March 1947 versus Sept 1945).
Paint is too thick on the generator to accurately read the numbers, but
here's what is printed on the generator (dashes are unreadable characters):

 Line 1: _ _ Y V _ _ L 1
 Line 2: 228139
 Line 3: 12 V - 3 47

 Question 2:
A Lucas WLR576 fog lamp is sitting in with my TC stuff. Anyone know if
this was original equipment for a particular vehicle?

Tom a Lucas 576 lamp is a 1950's to 1960's lamp, as for the generator if it
has a tach drive and a brush band with the plastic housing for the field and
armature, it is probably correct.
