reduction box for the rev. counter
Hello MG T fellows,
I bought a reduction box for the rev. counter (27H210) from Brown & Gammons for my TC 6325 and tried to install it. I couldn't install it, because the axis that has to be plugged into the generator axis is too long. I might have a chance to fit the box, if I use a saw and cut it. But I don't want to do this and hope that there is an other box available that really fits. Or is it a problem with my generator? I attached a photo with both reduction boxes (17KB only!). The left box is the new one with the log axis and the right one is my old (original??) box with the short axis.
Anyone who had the same problem in the past and may give me a hint?
Thanks for your help

Peter have you tried taking the clamp and end off of the old one and putting it on the new one, the ends are a replacement item, both of them have a little screw in them Cheers Dean, Illinois ----- Original Message ----- From:

reduction box for the rev. counter Peter I popped out to my garage and dis-assembled my TC's reduction box to check the configuration which I replaced about a month ago. The male link pin length appears to be precisely the same length as the new (long) one you bought. It therefore seems that either the receiving female end of the gennie is defective or has a blockage of sorts. I suggest you test the depth of the receiving end as well as slot into which the "pinched" link pin tag should slide (it may have been closed a bit) Perhaps a PO remanufactured, or fitted a non-standard, gennie. A word of caution. The link pin attaches to the reduction box with a sort of grub screw. Make sure its head is properly seated into the key-hole type slot otherwise the screw head will grind away at the brass collar - the gennie can drive a mean mini lathe in conjunction with that screwhead! So much for males, females, screws and grinding, but remember - you cannot judge the depth of a well by the length of the handle on the pump! Regards Joe Gates TC 8675
