FT27 Lamps
So Roger, If you don't stick you FT27 on the front of your TC, where
do you stick it?

Viv: I dont know about Roger, but I continue to run the generic Lucas
type ugly one on the front of the car and my FT 27 is in its box
beside me in the den.....I take it out and pet it about once a month,
then put it away for another month. I guess I'm saving for Ebay,
after I sell the car. (Or the GF can sell it for a couple of bucks,
along with the rest of the TC residue, after Im gone.)
Hmmm......what's wrong with this picture?

Hello Viv - I hope that is a serious question, and not a facetious remark!!!
How about on the wall of the den, angled to spotlight any trophies you might
have in your display cabinet? They got to be fabulously rare and impossibly
expensive only because people had this strange idea that they had to be
mounted on badge bars.
cheers
Roger

Hello Roger,
Yes it was a serious question. I'm amazed that someone of your
MG stature would deprive an FT27 of its rightful position on the
badge bar of an MG TC and would be so presumptuous as to hang
it in your den for the benefit of a chosen few. This must fall in the
same category as collectors with sheds full of cars that never see
the road or maybe hanging the Mona Lisa in your own dining room
instead of where it can be appreciated by the world!
Imagine the following intruction in your TC owners manual:-
"NOTE:
When you take delivery of your TC, before using it, remove FT27
from badge bar, wrap carefully in soft tissue and store in safe place
for as long as you own the car. One day it will be very valuable"
Rip it off the wall Roger and return to its home out there in the
breeze!
Best rgds Viv
