My number ONE mechanic went to Dot 4 which he told me was compatible with all the types of rubber and with dot 3. . . As opposed to dot 5(Silicone) which required flushing because it would not mix if anything remained, of the old type. Since I trusted him with my life in more ways than one, I took that as gospel. . . . Sally Carroll
