They are not 2BA as 2BA is about a 10/32 US thread, I suspect they are around a 4 or 5 BA. Joe Curto

You are right Joe, they are close to our #6. Moss has a set but don't tell the size. I don't have a BA thread gauge here. I need this info too for my NA sending unit. Terry

I vote for 3BA. The outside thread diameter of mine measure 0.158 inches. They're smaller than the 2BA bolt that I have but larger than the 4BA bolts that I measure at 0.140 inches outside thread diameter. Jack Stehr

Actually, I would like to know more about the BA threads used in TCs. It seems like practically every nut, bolt and screw less than 1/4 inch is a BA thread. Information on this standard is hard to come by, and the hardware is even harder to find. I could do without the flippant remarks, though. Regards, Charles Hill

British Association (BA) machine screws are numbered BA0 through BA22, and were used for the same sort of applications where we would use American number-sized machine screws. BA machine screw diameters are metric. The thread angle is 47.5 degrees, compared to 55 for BSF & BSW, 60 for UNC, UNF, and ISO Metric. Here's a chart: Size Diameter Pitch (threads per in) ---- ------------------ ---------------------- 0BA 6.00 mm (0.2362 in) 25.50 TPI 1BA 5.30 mm (0.2087 in) 28.25 TPI 2BA 4.70 mm (0.1850 in) 31.75 TPI 3BA 4.10 mm (0.1614 in) 34.75 TPI 4BA 3.60 mm (0.1417 in) 38.50 TPI 5BA 3.20 mm (0.1260 in) 43.00 TPI 6BA 2.80 mm (0.1102 in) 48.00 TPI 7BA 2.50 mm (0.0984 in) 53.00 TPI 8BA 2.20 mm (0.0866 in) 59.00 TPI 9BA 1.90 mm (0.0748 in) 65.00 TPI 10BA 1.70 mm (0.0669 in) 72.50 TPI 11BA 1.50 mm (0.0591 in) 82.00 TPI 12BA 1.30 mm (0.0512 in) 90.75 TPI 13BA 1.20 mm (0.0472 in) 101.50 TPI 14BA 1.00 mm (0.0394 in) 110.50 TPI 15BA 0.90 mm (0.0354 in) 121.00 TPI 16BA 0.79 mm (0.0311 in) 133.75 TPI 17BA 0.70 mm (0.0276 in) 149.50 TPI 18BA 0.62 mm (0.0244 in) 169.25 TPI 19BA 0.54 mm (0.0213 in) 181.50 TPI 20BA 0.48 mm (0.0189 in) 211.75 TPI 21BA 0.42 mm (0.0165 in) 231.00 TPI 22BA 0.37 mm (0.0146 in) 254.00 TPI Chip
