Thanks for the answers. Looks as though Glenys's fuel consumption is much the same as others, so I will refrain from fitting a mechanical stop on the pedal. Brian Bax asked whether the speedo was correctly calibrated. Being a TA instrument with TC gearbox and back axle this is a valid question. For the benefit of others with this combination the TA speedo odometer gives correct mileage when used with TC gearbox and rear axle. The overall gearing from axle to the speedo cable is 2.2780 on a standard TA and 2.2777:1 on a TC. A calibration problem arises when the the lower TA axle ratio is used with a TC gearbox.
