Does anyone have any suggestions about a good quality paint (I have been using PPG Urethane lately which is apparently very good) and colour code for the wire wheels and the valve cover.
My understanding is the wheels are a silver while the valve cover had a slight blue/green hue to it? I think many people paint the two the same though.
I have been told that Rinshed-Mason E-2639-D Silver Iridescent has been used as well as Sherwin-Williams #374 Silver. I have not been able to find either here in Ottawa yet. The paint supply places here seem to sell Dupont and PPG - and everyone says they need a code to work with.
Thanks,

Can't comment on colour codes but I would recommend powder coating the
wheels rather than conventional painting. My local supplier uses RAL
colour cards and I chose the nearest to traditional "aluminium silver
paint" for the TA. The results have been very durable in our salt laden
and wet UK climate. I have also used powder coatings on my other (non
MG) pre war cars and found it to be a lot more durable than conventional
spray paints.

Back in 1994, I used the following for my TC wheels. I was given the
information by a professional MG restorer and suppose it is probably as close
as you will get to the original color:
Dupont Centari Acrylic Enamel (this is what I used back then)
Stock no: 42654A (I think this must be a stock number)
Car: Mercedes Benz, year: 1972
Color code: 08735
Color: Astral silver metallic B/C
I think I used this for the valve cover as well (but am not sure), and was
told that, in time, the cover would take on the "greenish" hue, as it seems
to have done. Anyhow, it looks right. I'm happy.
