Murray: I can confirm what Gene's virus scanner told him. I use an old-fashioned text-only mail program (okay, so I'm a unreconstructed UNIX user), and I can see the Kak Worm's Java Script imbedded in your message. Your PC is definitely infected, which means every e-mail you send contains the infection. Everyone Else: No need to panic unless you're using an old version of Outlok Express. The Kak Worm works only if you read an infected message with a version of Outlook Express that automatically runs Java Scripts. There's no need to worry if you've upgraded Outlook Express within the past year, or if you applied Microsoft's anti-Kak patch to your older Outlook Express and Internet Explorer, or if you don't use Outlook Express. I got the message also, my Norton system quarantined the message. However, when I tried to receive messages, I kept getting the same 23 messages over and over. I deleted twice, and then called my e-mail provider to erase all messages waiting to be sent to me when I receive next. That eliminated the virus that keeps coming back to you each time you receive messages. My experience has been that if you don't have your waiting messages cleared, you will get the bad one and all others in that batch over and over and over. PTH
