I replaced the pin, brass ball socket and spring on my early TC a few weeks ago. The parts came from Moss. It made a great improvement in minimizing door sag. I didn't want to replace the entire hinge (or 4 hinges) because it involves painting, removing upholstery, etcetera, so I tried this fix first. It worked really well. The hinge holes for the pins are worn oval so that problem isn't fixed, but it did enough good to make a big improvement. I suggest using graphite as a lubricant on the pin and brass ball during assembly. The screw head of the replacement hinge pin is larger than what was currently in use (I don't know if my pins were original. If you are into real originality you might want it turned down a little.
