I need to refinish an original TC steering wheel. What is the best material
to use? It's my understanding that originally some sort of black plastic
material was applied that had a thickness of about an 1/8".

Jack:
My original TC wheel was refinished using black imron paint. This produces a
hard gloss finish.

Ray:
An original TC steering wheel is the rarest of commodities. The chances of
finding one is close to impossible. About the only place you may find one is a
large swap meet and then you must be prepared to fork over a tidy sum. I believe
someone on the list said a while back that he was going to try and make
reproductions. I haven't heard anything since. Good luck.
