I have a friend who, after decades of owning his TC, sold it a couple of years ago. Predictably, he's in deep remorse now. He's asked me to help him find a good driver. There are a number for sale at the usual places, but I've recommended he wait and check with the list first, as he's more likely to find one (should one be for sale) that's possibly less of a risk than, say, e-bay. ....anyone? Best to all, Sam

A friend on the west coast is looking for a "nice" TC. I assume that by this she means a reasonably reliable driver. Any Leads? Jim [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

The following email is from a gentleman looking for a TC to purchase. ____________________________________ From: nicholasjohnstuart@googlemail.com To: fdshade@aol.com Sent: 3/5/2010 1:53:48 A.M. Pacific Standard Time Subj: TABC Forever Hi Jim I have enjoyed many a happy hour over the past couple of years looking through your "TABC Forever" site. I think that the idea that owners from all over the world can display a picture of their T type and tell their story is a brilliant idea to bring owners together. I would very much like to join the club but do not have a car yet. We (wife and I) have been looking for a car for about 18 months now, but very few seem to come up for sale. Would it be possible for us to place a wanted ad on your site please ? As the site is viewed by people from all over, someone from our part of the world may have a car and hopefully might respond. Coincidentally we live about thirty miles away from Abingdon where, as you know, the old MG factory used to be. If you are able to post an advert for us -we would be very grateful. It could read as follows : MG TC WANTED I live in the UK and I am looking for a TC and would consider either a running car or a project. I would be prepared to travel to view and purchase. I should make it clear that I am a private individual seeking a car for my own use. Please mail to _nicholasjohnstuart@gmail.com_ (mailto:nicholasjohnstuart@gmail.com) or call 07949 992663. thanks. I look forward to being able to post a picture of our car on the TABC site ! many thanks Nick _nicholasjohnstuart@googlemail.com_ (mailto:nicholasjohnstuart@googlemail.com) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

hello Nick - there are several ways to find a TC, but it all depends how much you want to pay! Go to http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/82073 to see a very nice Cream TC in Lichfield for sale at 28,500. Yes, prices are creeping up, mostly as a result of very costly professional rebuilds. Cars do come up for less than 20k but usually requiring some work. And "barn finds" seem to be more common over the pond, so maybe the email from Jim (which is guaranteed to reach all 1000+ listers) will turn up a car requiring work. It all depends how much work you want to carry out, and how long you can wait to drive it! I just heard from a UK owner who has had his TA for over 40 years, but it has been off the road for 30, and he is only now getting it roadworthy ocTagonally Roger TC0978 TC2365 Devon

Looking for a TC

As reported earlier I sold my TC. Now I'm looking for another   I recently considered purchase of this nice looking TC   http://www.luxmotorcars.com/1948-MG-TC/Used-Convertible/Sacramento-CA/4099/2026963/Details.aspx   Since the car is a few hundred miles from my home, I asked T-ABC member Andy Reshke, who lives near the dealer, to take a look at the car for me.  He kindly agreed, and after his inspection, he reported a few problems with the car and suggested that I contact Lawrie Alexander a local MG mechanic.   I suspect that some of you know him.   http://www.britcars.com/lawrie.html   Based on Mr. Alexander's inspection and report (which was very thorough), I didn't buy the car, but I'm still looking     Jim Shade West Covina CA USA
