Missing steering wheel hub

Post by Alan Moote » Fri Mar 23, 2001 1:50 pm

Thanks to all that responded to my search for a steering wheel hub for my TC. Mike Goodman has one and Koch's Steering Wheel Restoration will have it shipped to me. Thanks again, Alan Moote Oceanside, CA

Dear Alan: We are sorry to hear that you had trouble with your steering wheel at Koch's. We did not realize that you were going to send them the whole wheel. Their specialty is refurbishing the material on the rim. We've sent Koch's prewar Silver Ghost and MG wheels where the material is almost completely gone, cracked, big hunks missing, and they have returned them in gorgeous condition. We sent one wheel back for correction and they did exactly as we asked. We are puzzled why they couldn't fix yours. Koch's doesn't do metal plating, polishing or fabrication. They only redo the hand grip material on the rim. With any supplier we send out only the part that they will be working on and remove any loose hardware. We have our metal polished elsewhere. We are glad to see that Koch's is standing by their work and replacing the lost hub. Kindest regards, Alan & Victoria Campbell
