TA Exhaust System

Ken,
the complete TC system will not fit the TA with MPJG engine. The
front pipe from the manifold to the silencer is different. I believe the
silencer and tailpipe are the same. I have a stainless exhaust system on my
TA purchased from the Octagon Car Club, they list sepetae TA and TB/TC
systems... I have since been told that stainless steel exhaust systems do
not conduct the heat away as efficently as mild steel, possibly leading to a
cracked exhaust manifold, or worse, cracks in the cylinder head within the
centre siamesed exhaust port...
I know the heads are prone to cracking there, but I am sure they cracked
before stainless steel exhausts became available!! I fitted a brand new
exhaust manifold at the same time as the stainless exhaust system, about 18
months and 8,000 miles ago, so far I have had no trouble....
