The MG Car Club have stated that they vet the companies listed in their Trade Directory but how ?? they rely only on feedback from members both good and bad. But companies pay a large fee to the club to become a member and be included in their trade membership scheme, need I say more . Mr Walker has come in for a lot of stick recently and unfortunately along with the cars that he sells is still stuck in the last century so has no access to the internet. He is therefore not in a position to be able to defend himself, but on a lighter note I did notice Badger lurking around Barry Walker's stall at Beaulieu last September !!!! Dave Richmond (TC 361)

Dave Richmond wrote: "...................I did notice Badger lurking around Barry Walker's stall at Beaulieu last September !!!!" Incorrect Dave!!! Badger does not "lurk". Badger may roam, stroll, strut, or stride. He may walk, waltz, proceed, move, or meander. He may pose and on rare occasions, he will even dance, BUT, he will never, ever "lurk". It must have been a Badger impostor you saw "lurking" at the stall of B.Walker.

Hello Ray, before I knew better I had the misfortune to buy a "meticulous restoration to original specification" from this character which was subsequently found to have numerous faults. In fact, after a few days the steering coloumn inner actually came out of the steering box! I reported my concerns to the MGCC. Result: no interest at all. I just wish all you folks out there in Mg land to know that I just recieved a very nice phone call from Barry Walker in England. I am pleased to report that I feel that we have settled our differences in an amicable way. We discussed the fact that we have both grown older, and hopefully wiser. Barry tells me that his company has solved many of the early growing problems , and has in place ways to solve parts problems, returns etc. So I am going to start fresh with Barry, and see where it takes us. His new company expansion, may be good for all of us. Time to move ahead, and forget the past. Again, I do thank Barry for having the courtesy to call me and resolve this issue. Cheers; Skip Kelsey.......................................................

Skip, I am sure that you will keep us updated as to BW's new leaf turn. I hope that it truly IS a change for the better, because he is frequently the only source for some things we need. Best, Ray McCrary "Speed is Life; of course Luck and Altitude are helpful, too."

Hello Ray - I doubt that any commentary was made about BW by Safety Fast, but the Jan 2001 issue has a slot in the "News" pages (p.10) no doubt written by the man himself, and p.53 carries an advert (a whole half page!) which carries the heading: ...for the very best in vintage MGs (he did not put the "dots" in) QUALITY ASSURED FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS I make no comment, only to say that if everyone with a grievance were to write a paragraph or two, when all put together they would make a VERY interesting book!!!

One comment-My only experience dealing with Barry Walker was excellent. I was in the market for an original Centrics Supercharger for my P-Type. I learned that he had one, we struck a deal and it was promptly shiped and arrived exactly as represented. It was not cheap nor did I expect it to be. By the way did you all see Badgers picture in the Feb-March 2001 issue#89 of British Car? Thanks, Tom
