my first port of call would be www.dvla.co.uk and take it from there Alan Webster

I've only gone through the procedure for re-registering a UK car, but the direct number I used to the appropriate DVLA department was 01792 783420 alternatively write to: DVLA VCS/MSU Longview Road Swansea SA6 7JL The general enquiry number for registration enquiries is 0870 240 0010 You can also call in at any of the DVLA registration offices around the UK and get the forms. As an idea what to expect, I had to fill in a V55/5 form, supply a picture to prove the car was in one piece, a letter from an approved independent source (Car Club) linking car to chassis number, and in my case the old log book. The DVLA then issued a new log book with "not Licensed" as the tax class. When you get an MOT you send the new log book and MOT back and they change the tax class to "historic" and issue a free tax disc for the year. In your case they should allocate an age related number plate.
