Clive, On page 12 of Chris Harvey's "The Immortal T Series" it shows a factory photo of a TA dashboard. It sure looks like the veneer is bookmatched to me. IMHO, its hard to say that all TAs, TBs or TCs were all one piece or all bookmatched. Most TCs were bookmatched but I have seen a few original one piece veneer facia panels.

Jim, Just to add to that, The TA and TB also had a walnut facia. It was a single straight grained board and was NOT a left/right matched pair as often found on furniture, NIETHER was it Burr walnut, which is sometimes seen, looks nice, but is totally wrong for the T Type. The walnut too was English / European walnut which has a different grain texture and colour to the now commonly available American Black Walnut, though the "black" refers to the colour of the American walnut's bark, not the underlying timber. Correct wide well grained European walnut veneer seems increasingly hard to get today. Best Regards Clive Oxford, UK = ================================= ----- Original Message -----

Fred asked that I share this with the group. It is nice to hear from someone who has probably seen more dashboards and body tubs than any of us have. He also wishes us a Happy New Year from the Whitworth Shop. Wrenches & ale,
