fun while it lasted (from 1952), but all good things come to an end. Best

I recently returned from a trip to Ireland and Scotland. While in Scotland I happened across a rally at Fivey castle northwest of Aberdeen. There I ran into a gentleman, Colin Murphy who recently purchase a beautifully restored 1935 MG type PB. MG 4084, engine PB688A, Chassis no. MA 2090. Colin believes the car was restored in the states but he doesn't know who did the restoration. The collector he bought the car from also did not know who restored it. Judging from its condition the restoration doesn't look more than several years old. Is there anyone out there who may know about this car? It appears to have been last registered in the United Kingdom in July 1958.

I have recently come across a 1938 vintage MG-TA in the storage of my life s
treasures. I have owned this machine for more than half of it s life and more
that half my live as well. It was driven hard and put away wet most of it s
first 25 years. It was eaten up with rust and wood rot so I took it apart with
the intent to restore it. Then I started following a career that kept me on the
move and never living in a place very long and never with a garage. So it
went into storage here and there. The frame and tub in one location..... the
engine & transmission in another. When I started pulling it back together the
doors were missing and so was the metal panel and wood frame above the
firewall/under the wind screen. I am amazed that I hadn't lost more of it than I did.Now
I am at a point in my life where I should be able to complete the task started
in 1966. The photos and stories I have read of other restorations are
encouraging and I am looking forward to driving this car again. Regards,Jerry

Jim,

I bet I was one of the few members of Gen Burns' command who even knew
what a TB was.
