 I prefer to make my own, as like most of us, I am retired and need to fill my hours with productive endeavors.  Besides what else could I do with those empty beer cans in my recycle bin?

That's true Steve, it's not rocket science to make a few shims .... but at the few pence they cost my time is worth more.

The shims are easily made up at home using whatever thin material you have around.  It is a trial and error process and no special stock needs to be purchased.
