If you go to the Christies website www.christies.com and look up the Pebble Beach auction the car is listed and there is quite a recent sales history.

I have a pic in my trove of four decades of photos - I will try to find it. Everyone has Reid stories, here's another - He had a '31 Lincoln cabriolet once owned by Carole Lombard, Greta Garbo or another Hollywood legend. He came to an Abingdon RoughRider/TC Motoring Guild annual meet with it and along the way, driving at speed up California's famous Highway 1, noted that it was overheating. He stopped to check the water. The rad cap was surmounted with a fabulous LaLique crystal female figure. He put his hand around it in preparation for unscrewing the cap and it came off in his hand!! Said Lincoln had a superb travelling case on the luggage rack with perfect original hotel stickers from all over the world. The last time I saw him we were dining at a restaurant in Pismo Beach (?). There were two tables of diners and I was lucky enough to be at Ried's table. He said "I'm buying wine for my table and you people (at the other) are (censored) out of luck!" My, did we drink well that night. Reid could be very crude and unpleasant, as I'm sure, lots of Hollywood "personalities" were/are. Reid did a spread in Life magazine on Joan Collins a number of years ago. I recall him in one photo laying in a silken bed with Joan.
