Re: Cracked head
Ron,
Another option is possibly Lockn Stitch, a metal stitching process that makes cracks better than new with new metal, no welding.
I have used it on a 16" crack in my SA block, (water jacket) and it works great. Send for a basic kit and do it yourself, Here is a link:
Cost is not that much, and , if you get 'talented', you may have enough left over to do a tech session with your club....

Ron, I had a TF head welded by a place in the Midwest that only does
ylinder heads. They have some unique process, they were inexpensive and
ead came back like new. They test it and installed new valves and seats
hich were ordered from Moss and sent to them. If you are interested I will
ook up their name and address
Mike on the summer like Jersey Shore. Almost 70 today.

Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience of welding cracks in cylinder heads? I have
spare one that has a crack in-between No.2 and 3 cylinder at right angles
oing towards the stud holes. It has also been skimmed beyond Stage2. Not
ure if this has contributed to it or not.
Regards,
