AW: [mg-tabc] tyres tire

Post by paroor@t-online.de » Wed Feb 09, 2005 12:20 am

Dear Thom, I am so sad that there is no way to write my name " Madhu " in English. Madhu is pronounced similar to Madonna it is too round, If it is written "Mathu" It is pronounced like "Math " is too sharp. There is no choice for me in English English Language is easy to learn. It is handy. With the knowledge few word you can deal with it. It is like a baby room key board. ( with 28 keys ) How can you play "Beethoven" on that key board ? It is like a small pocket camera giving a picture but not that perfect picture. See the "SMS" language of teen's. It has nothing to do with English. While you people fight about your English language, I only laugh about the fight. Madhu, Mathu, Madu ( all are wrong ) No body is perfect.

When you realise that the first pronunciation means cut, as in chopped, and the second means cup........... need I say more? I mean, whoever heard of a car resembling a cup? Not a lot to tell really - Like I said we found it back of a farm house in Gunnislake, Cornwall, being used as a chicken coup (e) brought it back to a friends Garage forecourt and hosed it down. A week of hot sun later Walter's wife insisted I remove the smell and the car came home on the roof rack (they are not too heavy the M Types!) Took just 6 people to load and offload. It was then rebuilt as a racer with slimmer than standad pointed tail fabric body a la Amilcar CGSS and used on road and track. After some five years of development it would lap Silverstone at just under 70 MPH with a top speed in the lower 90s Still with the original single bronze carb and the funny M Type exhaust casting with 1001 right angles in it. It is now in Italy I believe A recent photo is at http://www.alfabet.se/MG/M-Types/slides/MGM.jpg Though I had nicer wings on it when it was mine! Racing an M is an interesting excersise in balancing development of the engine with the frailty of the other parts - Like bending the propshaft in two under acceleration, and tearing all the spofes out of the hub at race start when the flag drops - to name just a couple..... Eventually it would all hold together and was a regular winner against some quite unlilely big opposition. All Best Clive
