I took a flying lesson in a de Haviland Tiger Moth at Duxford a number of years ago.  It's pretty much like flying a TC with wings, well worth it.   A flight in the Colling's B-17 is a definite on my to do list. Mark O'DayTA 2335TC 2218 Sent from my iPad

Put it on yoru to-do list it is even tax deductible I found the B 25 to noisy and to many fumes , the nose compartment in the B 17 is just like watching 12 O'Clock High or Best Years of Their Life . I suppose that you remember the old Jimmy Bond flick (Moonraker?) which heavily featured a Vulcan and one shot in which half a dozen or so were shown on a runway? That was back when we had an Air Force worth the name!

Joe, or anybody know the number of flying B24 s left? I believe they were the most produced bomber of the war. At Willow run, they ran two shifts and produced a new B24 every hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Wow! B24s were nor as romantic as the B17 ( the 17 got the better Hollywood Movie treatment) but the B24 was probably the better plane and saw service in ever theater of the war .
