I also use RainX after hearing from a friend who swore by it. My biggest problem now though is how to deal with the rain that collects on inside of the windscreen when driving with the top down. Suggestions on a postcard please, bearing in mind that only wimps put the top up in the rain... ;-) Cheers, Dave Aberdeen TC9964

Also another good use for it is if you windscreen has frost on it, turn you wipers on and it flick the frost off. Also bug do not stick to you windscreen as good, anything on your windscreen is easily to wipe off. I use it on all of my regular cars, put it on your headlight to make bug removal easy, also chrome in the front area of your car (bugs). Regards, Hugh ----- Original Message ----- From: Dean Jensen To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, March 31, 2002 5:22 PM Subject: [mg-tabc] Wiper motor wiring Charles Hill My best suggestion is to hook up the wiper motor, for the originality police, etc, and use Rain X. The wiper system is worthless, the blades do not have enough tension on them, and at times they do not go fast enough. Rain X is the only way to go in the rain, also if you are driving in the snow, and it is below freezing, forget the wipers. Cheers Dean Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to the Yahoo! Clive- I use a large bath towel rolled into a roll and place along the bottom of the windscreen inside, seems to work great. also keep plastic sheet on the lap to keep pants dry. Rain-x is the only way to go, inside and outside. Haven't used the wiper motor in years REMEMBER: 95% OF LIFE'S PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED WITH DUCT TAPE. Wiper Motor Wiring

Post by Doug Pelton » Sun Jan 20, 2008 3:43 pm

I was feeling pretty comfortable with the wiring on my car. Very basic and straight forward. Then I opened up the wiper wire to strip 2 leads and connect to motor. I found uncased copper wire around the red and yellow wires. What is the purpose of this 3rd option for uncased copper wire? Is this a ground? I cheated when I did my windshield. I remember reading somewhere that the replacement wire from some of the bigger suppliers wasn't heavy enough to handle the current draw of the wiper motor. I simply ran 2 14ga wires for the wiper. I simply covered the exposed portion between the windshield and cowl with a length of black braided shoestring. It may not be correct for the OP but it looks neat and tidy and it works. Regards, Charles Hill
