The fact is is countries like Australia and South Africa > where we do not enjoy billiard table smooth lanes ala England, Europe > and the USA, (and before anyone says anything I have probably driven > more miles in all those places that a lot of you guys Billiard smooth lanes???? Not where I live, mind you that's Scotland, which I'm not sure is included in the above list ;-). Roads around here are an excellent testing ground for the adequacy or otherwise of the B/C box. Somewhat like deepest Devon probably... I'm not long back from a few months in the US (Houston), which by the way had some of the WORST road surfaces I've ever seen. Fortunately mind you, handling wasn't really an issue given the lack of interesting bends. After a few years of putting up with the archetypal horrendous steering I took the car off the road, having seriously considered a Datsun box. However before going that way I went through the front end of the car with a fine toothed comb, replaced the cam and peg in the box (both of which were worn) and removed the front anti-castor wedges. Result, a total transformation and a sheer delight. Much more than adequate! By the way, since then I added a Panhard rod a few years ago, basd on drawings in the Octagon Car Club Bulletin. Not a dramatic change, just helps the feeling of 'togetherness'. I'll take some photos and pass them on if anyone wants. Yours octagonally (whch is how my car USED to tackle roundabouts), Dave TC9964 Aberdeen
