Dave now you know that those boxes of gauge faces were actually from some one off Vauxhall that looks similar but not quite correct for a T type that is 1/8 inch smaller in diameter, either that the vender would have the one face you want on the table for 3 times the price of the entire box. This would be like my 8 inch head lamp stories. Joe

Re: [mg-tabc] 'Gauges' Hi guys (and Victoria) - last w/e at the Bristol Classic Car show here in the West of England, I spoke to an Auto Instrument Repair man who seemed to know his stuff. He would seem to be a good alternative to Vintage Instruments judging by the quality ot his work, and we had a good discussion about the feasability of putting modern quartz movements into old clocks. The trouble is, T-types are but a small fraction of the whole gamut of British cars, but maybe with the combined buying power of the list, we could lever a good deal or two. Buying just the dials is certainly a great idea for oil gauges & ammeters where the "gubbins" are OK. If you want to contact him directly, he is Adrian Sidwell on +44 (0) 1428 714349 (T) or +44 (0) 1428 712512 (FAX) or adrian@sidwellassoc.freeserve.co.uk> ocTagonally Roger
I am sure some of us TA ( &B,C) restorers would require only instrument faces, the rest of the instrment (gauge ) being ok or restorable. Anyone know a source?..Bob
