The system would still be vented, but the opening would be in a relatively dry place. One could even run the fitting into a can with a large diameter (volume) diaphragm and make it a sealed system. I have owned cars (many antiques) with hydraulic brakes for almost 50 years and have rarely had brake fluid related problems. I use regular fluid. I don t anticipate any problems since my car will be driven regularly year round. Yes, I live in Colorado and No I will not have a heater. Many of the later Brit. cars had remote reservoirs mounted up higher on the firewall connected to the MC with a metal or plastic tube. My Morgan Plus 8 for instance has such an arrangement and the caps of the reservoirs are baffled. My TC has a Wilwood MC that has a rubber baffle as part of the sealing arrangement. Some progress has been made over the years. Steve TC2911

Re: [mg-tabc] Silicone brake fluid Steve,
I just did a Google search for Wilwood master cylinder and found the manufacturer website. Very interesting. Which master cylinder model of theirs did you install. What did it take to mount it?
Their remote master cylinder gives the option to mount reservoir right on the cylinder (but probably would be too tall to fit under the TC floorboard) or mount it remotely. Clever. And cost is fairly reasonable.

It would seem that you could simply snap a rubber balloon over the top of the master cylinder. This would keep the water out and allow for expansion or contraction. Or would that be too easy? Jim in sunny Tucson
