Re: N/P Steering box
but I guess it worked okay 'cause he drove the
damn thing home.
You must not have read the story! A story of amazing tenacity! A story of
rebuild after rebuild, of sputtering to stop after stop.
Personally, I would have dropped a match in the damn thing after it left me
walking the fifteenth time or so.....
We laughed our asses off at the car show when the fellow showed up with the
car and told us the story about his trip from hell.
Best,
Ray McCrary

Re: N/P Steering box
I just sold him an old car Ray, with no guarantees. The choice to drive
an unknown, tiny, old car a distance of a thousand miles or whatever,
having almost no mechanical knowledge, or tools, was entirely his. To
the best of my knowledge, he basically enjoyed the experience and has
acquired enough great war stories along the way to last him for years.
I applaud him and his brave determination. He is a true enthusiast in
the best sense of the word.

How about adding airbags, ABS brakes, and energy absorbing bumpers? You could have the safest replica MG on the road.> Dave Ahrendt > "..........'46 TC #0524 with Datsun steering, better lighting, seat belts, Alfin brakes, and, "Oh my God", an alternator!"

Well yeah Austin. But is it safe? Also, I'm not too sure of how to
take that comment about the "recirculating balls".
