Hello, all,
Simple question: How do you adjust the steering "stops" which are on the
cotters holding the king-pins into the front axle on a TC??? (I just
installed new king-pins and bushings; and now need to adjust thos "stops")
None of my manuals has any info on this topic. Thanks in advance!

Hi Fritz - first of all I assume you have the correct cotters, i.e. the ones
with large domed heads at the back, not the "bycycle" type usually supplied.
Screwed into each stub axle is a bolt with a locking tab washer which comes
into contact with the cotter on full lock.
The idea is that the bolt can be screwed out to limit the lock, but I have
never found this necessary, and looking at other cars have only ever seen
this bolt screwed home.

PS if your bolts and cotter heads are at the front, your axle beam is on the
wrong way round, and even a Jap steering box will not make your car steer
properly!
