MessagePaul Glad you found the problem area. I understand there should not be a gasket between the oil pump cover and pump. This was an issue some time back on the site, and the consensus was that the two surfaces should be so smooth and mated that a gasket is not required(I might be mistaken).Look up the correspondence on oil pumps in the Archives where wiser heads than mine have put their views.Perhaps put the query to the site and you will get the definitive answers! Its not the gasket between the oil pipe and the top of the pump? You will have to Jack up the engine to enable clearance for the bolts to be withdrawn Best of luck Paul TC3348 Beautiful sunny Hertfordshire UK

I had cleaned the engine compartment up and took the TC for a 3 mile test ride and pulled over. I could see small bubbles forming at the top of the gasket where the cover joins with the oil pump body (not at the block). I did get a new gasket and my understanding is that I will have to lift the engine to remove the bolts and cover to put a new gasket in. I did try tightening the bolts and was able to reduce the leak significantly. If you have any further thoughts, I am open to ideas.
