Water Gauge Installation - routing?

Post by Steve S » Tue Aug 16, 2005 11:00 am

I'm replacing the ugly modern water gauge in TC8975. THe old old ran through the same hole as the starter cable, which is the hole in the bulkhead nearest the hole in the bottom of the battery box. The new gauge, restored by Vintage Restorations, came with a grommet pre-installed but it's a larger grommet than this hole and obviously doesn't allow for sharing the hole with the starter cable. So, what is the proper hole for the H20 gauge, and are there any bulkhead routing diagrams available? Thanks! - Steve S - TC8975, LA, CA

Steve, TCs didn't have temperature gauges as standard equipment. I know a lot were added later. I've seen several with the oil pressure gauge replaced by a dual oil pressure/water temp ga from later cars. Routing is pretty much up to you. All I have is a MotoMeter ga in the radiator cap which seems sufficient if thats any help. Charles Hill Steve S wrote:
