To the Group; greetings!
Does anyone know offhand or would they be kind enough to measure
for me on an original set, the following on the running boards:
- the narrow end support bracket (the others appear
to be 14ga., can anyone confirm please?)
- the narrow end turn-down; is it angled at both ends
and if so the angle, please (something like zero at
the top and a half-inch at the bottom kind of thingy!)
Manny thanks. (As you can all tell, my holiday did nothing for
my lucidity!)

Re: Running boards
TA and TC running boards are different. I have a TA running board which
could be measured for duplication. Dick Little

AW: [mg-tabc] Re: Running boards
Hi David,
Yesterday I got an original TC running board from Klaus
Wagner. He is not in our list. He got a beautiful red TC restored ten years
back. I can take pictures of the running board and also make a drawing with
all dimension. If you want I can make a template out of paper and post it to
you.
I had a lot of problem getting 0448 TC mudguards and running boards
aliened. I was not able to do it my self. So I took the car to a 76 year old
gentle man Host Wagner. The width of the mud guard lower part adjacent to
the running board and the after market running board front width are
different. So he spot welded a bent metal piece to it and filled it with
led.
In the rear part if you keep the original width and adjust the rear
mudguard to match the running board, it is not very easy to remove the
tyres. But at the same time you do not want to kill the optic.
I am not sure about the early TC front mudguards. I tried compare them. It
is like you trying to compare your left half of the face to the right half
of your face in the mirror. ( I did not mention any body part below the
belt). I am sure many people will have asymmetry. So TC 0448 can also have
a bit of asymmetry. They are all hand made and varied a bit here and there
like a custom tailored suit. Any way after all these pain the car is now in
the paint shop.
