Chinese Acquisition of MG by Nanjing Automobile
Found the following info on Forbes website regarding Chinese acquisition of
MG:

Maybe Nanjing will produce limited edition updated versions of anniversary
models of the classic T models in 50 mpg format. Will we someday go to a
"Sam's Club to purchase our cars and parts ? Could bring new meaning to
"Back to the Future". It will be interesting to see just how clever these
people really are.

Rumor has it they will come with Datson steering boxes, MG A rear ends,
Volvo B-9 engines,Genuine imitation vinyl and simulated wood grain dash. No
truth that the wings will be aluminum, genuine fiberglass, semi-monoque(sp?)
frame, with real working electrics from a Kia, 12 inch wheels and tires from
a Japanese econo box. Comes in either left or right hand drive (don't you
love the TC adds that brag 'right hand drive') ?
Options: electric pusher fuel pumps, LED tail-lights, halogen headlights, CD
player in boot, US version will have fuel tank relocated inside frame
rails. moved forward to avoid danger of rear collision, into the boot area
behind the seat.

Brilliant!
Hopefully they can also add some sturdy cupholders, and a DVD system to entertain the kiddies on a long drive. Now that would be a REAL TC!

.....and maybe will thus be so much better for it!!!
Tradition???? Heritage????
What's it matter these days...apparently even the Poms now consider
these items expendable. Silly old farts huddling together for mutual
support on lists such as this seem to be the only sources of concern.
Maybe we all should wake up and realise...'The Gatling's jammed and the
Colonel dead"... it seems the sun, finally, HAS set on the empire.
And what's it all matter in the greater scheme of things,... eh?
