Starter cable fixture

Post by told339rig290 » Wed May 11, 2005 7:02 am

I am looking for the device which holds the outer end of the starter pull Bowden cable close to the starter motor itself. I have no idea what this might be. In some pictures of TAs I have seen some sort of circular bracket attached to the steering column, in others, a device similar to the TC, a kind of triangular piece of metal extending downwards from the carburettors. Any help will be gratefully received.

My TC has two Jubilee clips around the steering colum which seems to keep the bowden cable in position-probably not correct but does the job Paul TC3348

Shucks, I didn't know there was a fixing of the outer sheath of the cable. Mine works fine without one. _Peter

Some cars have the triangular bracket held by the Carb bolts. They are available from the usual suspects, I believe, but make sure that you have the square cutout otherwise the jet adjusting screw is covered. It is fairly easy to make your own.
