Tonneau Fittings

Post by Geoff Broad » Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:29 am

Good morning Mgers

I have been struggling to get a Moss full tonneau to fit sensibly and I am at the point of attaching two fasteners to each of the rear side tub of the car to hold the tonneau in place.

Does anyone have a view as to whether ‘lift the dot’ fasteners or turnbuckle fasteners are better for  full (and half) tonneau fitting?

Thanks

Geoff,MG never used turnbuckle fittings, and lift a dots should do the job perfectly well. Turnbuckles would look inappropriate in my view, and would quite literally, stick out like the proverbial sore thumbs ! Geoff,

I used lift the dot. However, if yours hasn’t got small side zips get them added so it can fold away behind the seats. I also fitted lift-the-dot fasteners to the cross rail to stop the leading edge from lifting in the wind.
