I have received and saved every copy of John James' excellent
bi-monthly, free, on-line publication, "Totally T Type 2" (TTT 2) since
its inception in 2010, but yesterday, when chasing down a reference, I
realized I was missing an entire year's worth of the recent issues.
I checked into it and found that I had overlooked a notice in the
February issue last year that James had formally incorporated his
operation as the "MG 'T' Society Limited," and he was having to abandon
his previous mailing list. Now, he can only send his announcements of
the availability of each new issue to members of the Society.
While I was downloading the issues I had missed from the TTT 2 archive,
I saw that the download counters showed an abrupt 45% drop at precisely
the time I stopped getting them. That decrease has persisted for the
next 6 issues. This undoubtedly indicates that many other readers had
also missed the incorporation notice. They might be blissfully unaware,
as I was, that they aren't getting the publications now.
The fix is simple - sign up! There is no fee and no subscription. You
will simply be sent a bi-monthly notice of the availability of each new
issue. Of course, the publications can still be downloaded by anyone
from the website ttypes.org/ttt2/, but to receive the notifications you
must be a member.
