MG being chased by bubble cars

Post by Jay Laifman » Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:58 pm

Does anyone remember (and have) the short story that went through the internet in the early 90s about an MG out for a drive in the future - being chased by two cars that were impervious to damage? I'd love to read it again.
Modern cars with their accident avoidance features hopefully are making our old cars safer! At least in some situations. Otherwise, we need even a longer safety cushion in front of us.

I remember reading that. The cars chasing it were much larger. It might have been in Road and Track magazine, late 70s Sent from my iPhone

I think it was A Nice Morning Drive in the November 1973 issue of Road & Track. Here s a link to a reprint of it: http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/transcripts/19731100roadandtrack.htm

Apparently a song called A Red Barchetta (which I d never heard of before) was based on that story, and there are lots of articles on the Internet about the inspiration for the song.
