John It just dawned on me that the most worthless part in my used parts box may have a redeeming feature as an emergency spare. In 1963 when my dad and I purchased the TD that I currently drive, I had difficulty finding the oil filter on the engine. That's because there wasn't one! Some DPO had removed the filter and lines and replaced the whole kit with a single line going directly from the oil pump to the block.....how scary is that! After assembling the correct setup, for some strange reason, I kept that old line. Guess it wouldn't do any harm to throw it in my emergency kit, although flexible lines seem to make the most sense. I've often thought of putting the line out on a spares-for-sale table at a GOF to see if anyone can identify it, then have a good laugh. My question, is there a spin off type of filter unit that will fit a TC and where can I get one?. I might want to change to this type of filter unit If the group recommends it. This is the second time in the 46 years I have owned this TC that this particular oil line let go. I have the aluminum filter unit with the twine filter cartridge in it which I changed to in the 60's when this unit came out. Maybe the unit is vibrating and putting stress on this line? thanks John Patterson TC 7025 Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
