I found that the condenser was soddered to the distributor plate
on the 48 MGTC. This cant be normal?
<<>>
Yes, it is if it's original it was soldered into place on MG TC and TD
distributors.
<<>>
It doesn't seem to be in any of the books I have?
<<>>
See the attached image from a TD Workshop manual which is attached to
the message that's going direct to you.
<<>>
Has anyone heard of such a thing?
<<>>
Yes, as explained above.
<<>>
I assume I'll have to heat it up and take it off to replace it?
<<>>
Yes, but I don't think you can get that particular type anymore. You
will need to either modify the plate or buy a replacement. Too often
the condenser would be heated to hot in the soldering process and damage
it. So, they went to the screw on type. It also was probably cheaper
and less expensive to install.
<<>>
Sometimes I trip over them , if you get my gist.

Some of us in the "boonies" don't have the option of cable modems, high
speed hookups, free local access numbers, etc. We're lucky if we can
even get a hook up over the telephone at 20 BPS. That's why I have my
mailer send all messages as text.
<<>>
I think it is very important on the Internet to remember that there is
another human being on the other end of that "send" button.
<<>>
Amen, and I was at the end of that send button.
<<>>
I will remind you that when you capitalize something in type on the
Internet it is the same as yelling?
<<>>
And what other option is there if one wishes to emphasize a word and
send the message as text?
And
"Thanks" for copying and sending what was personal message mailed
directly to you to everyone on the list. I really appreciate that.
