John (thanks for that name change) wrote: > and enrage the modification freaks< Doesn't enrage this member of the "modification freaks". If it doesn't make it drive straighter, faster, or safer I could care less. However, unless I'm sadly mistaken radiators are painted black to dissipate heat - here in Mississippi, if you're going to drive your car in the summer, that's more important than originality. And, when you're basing your claim of originality on a handful of cars and pictures showing "light" colored paint, compared to the majority of cars that are painted black, I don't see how you can say you're right and everyone else (except Grahame Page and his VA saloon) is wrong. Uh, and now John, you've got to wonder if the color was silver, aluminum, grey, green, etc? Geez, see what you've started now? Good luck, keep up the good fight Gene

Gene, Was said with humor albeit dry. The claims are based on far more than one example...see the archives. I enjoy DRIVING the car far more than this bickering..is a break from the BC cam thing though. The info. was posted to help others who care and mainly pertained to late TA and TB. Paint em black or pink...it's your call. CHEERS, Johnny

These cars are too much fun to languish in a garage where no one gets to enjoy 'em - especially the owner.. Wish I had a pint to tip to you, Gene P.S.- Badger's the only one I know that's gone with pink in the engine compartment - I think that's one "modification" I can do without.

Fw: [mg-tabc] " Pedantic info."
Gene, This tank battle is funny but I stand firm about the TB. I deeply regret taking it apart but it had to be for it to survive. I look forward to hitting the road again in the very near future with it as close to factory spec. as possible. BTW I will run a new crank as I don't want to risk that 39 block. I will use modern paint so the car will last etc. TB#0398 will never be trailered unless she breaks down and I have to call AAA. She will be a daily driver as before...windscreen down mostly. CHEERS, Johnny
