TA-TB guages
Hi Guys, I'm sure that many of you with TA's or TB's are stuck with gauges that were restored to look like the post-war cars. As you may know, when Smiths was restoring the gauges in the 70's and 80's, to save money they had one set of gauge face patterns that reflected the post-war car that sold a gazillion, the evergreen TC. This made good economic sense then. As a result, most of the TA-B cars lack the proper markings on the instrumentation-items such as the redline on the tach, or the little square on the oil pressure gauge meaning "per square inch" OP. They have been made to look like the TC. Some of us have been talking to the major (arguably the best) restorer of the old car gauges in the UK about a group order to return the instruments to "as new" condition. Needless to say, he is not interested in doing one at a time, and if he did, it would cost a bundle. If you are interested in the above group order, please contact me off list at either spook01@home.com or spook01@comcast.net (the @home guys are changing owners, so try both! Best Regards,
Ray
